As the Summer budget season begins to wind down and we close out the fiscal year it’s a great time to reconnect with your colleagues, or connect with new ones, at a UMANT professional development or networking event.

I want to personally invite you out to our UMANT Social and New Member Reception at Hidden Cove Park on Lake Lewisville in The Colony on Saturday, September 18^th (11AM-2PM).  It’s a free, come-and-go event and we will have food, fun, and good times (BYOB).  We’ve taken a renewed effort this year to incorporate more social events in to this year’s UMANT calendar that are purely just for fun (and maybe a little networking!), so I hope you can join us.  It’s a family friendly event, so bring the whole crew out.  Please RSVP so we know how much food to bring.

This year’s Annual NTCMA/UMANT William J. Pitstick Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for October 15^th, 8AM, at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson.  This tournament raises funds for the annual Pitstick scholarship recipient who is attending one of our local MPA programs and is dedicated to serving the public in the future.  Start putting your teams together now.  It’s always a fun event, and even if you are not a golfer, come out and have lunch with us at the Clubhouse!

Lastly, all members will soon be receiving in the mail a ballot for the slate of 2011 UMANT Officers and the proposed Bylaw revisions.  Please take the time to review these items and vote.
